Not at all what I expected
Review Date: 8/25/2008 Reviewer: Anonymous
When we moved here, we were desperate for a bigger place that was quiet without being out of the way. I have no complaints about location or noise, many of the neighbors are great, though it should be cautioned that many do not watch their small children and allow 2 and 3 year olds out without proper supervision. We retrieved one child last summer after he'd crawled through the gate surrounding the pool and was playing ball between the chaises. There was no adult in sight as so often happens here. Maintenance is absolutely terrible and the previous office staff were not much better (new management recently took over). Before signing the lease, we were given the pet deposit amountsfor our 2 pets, but when we went to pay, we were informed that they were actually charging us 800.00 dollars for the 2 pets versus the 400.00 we were first told. We were supposed to get one apartment when we moved, but it was not ready so they gave us another. The day we were supposed to start moving in, maintenance was still working on the apartment. They rushed through and it shows. My husband had to fix the light fixture in the living room after it was left with wires hanging out, the closet door in the living room is still broken, we fought for 6 months to get our air conditioner fixed where it was leaking in the hall. The ceiling and carpet in the area now have to be replaced thanks to the inability of the complex to hire someone capable of fixing the air conditioner until 6 months later. During landscaping renovations last summer one of our windows was cracked and is still broken. The screen door was not put in correctly and when it's closed, you cannot get it open again unless you happen to have a crowbar or the strength of ten. When you wipe the walls with a damp cloth in the apartment, paint wipes off where the paint job was rushed and nothing resembling a top coat was put on. I would like to say that there is a redeeming quality here, but unfortunately that's not really true. There are some wonderful people here, but great neighbors aren't worth the headaches of maintenance catastrophe that this place so frequently engenders. If they could get the maintenance issue sorted out and keep a dedicated office staff; it would be worth a second look but thus far, it hasn't happened. |
