Apartment Review for Overbrook Apartments - Little Rock, AR

Moved in the fall of 2007 with a one bedroom upstairs. Larger of one BR units about 779 sf. Buildings are nearly 30 years old and showing it. Several times I observed 2x12 lumber rotted and falling from balconies to units below. A walkway from my building to the next was very rotten with holes/voids obvious. I was angry when painters filled voids with foam caulk and painted over. Older, inefficient heat/AC units were bad enough, but the lack of insulation was terrible. My BR faced south with an all glass, single pane window and sliding patio door to the balcony. Temperatures were extreme, with as much as 15 degree variance from that window to the thermostat in the living room. I insulated the glass with foam board and then added thermal drapes. The most recent "improvement" to the facility was painting the handrail iron black over white. See earlier comment about painting over rotted wood. Staff was always good, maintenance was quick to respond but not always able to repair at the moment. I was placed in a "model apartment" twice due to mechanical failures in my unit.
